This Former Marine Proposed on Fixer Upper, and You Have to See the Emotional Video

Seems like love and home improvement go hand in hand-just look at Chip and Joanna Gaines! And in case you weren't already obsessed with the couple and their HGTV staple, this on-screen Fixer Upper proposal will certainly do the trick.

During the show's February 27, 2018 episode, former marine TJ Brooks and his girlfriend, Stephanie, enlisted the expertise of the show's hosts to update their home in Waco, Texas. As usual, the two Fixer Uppers worked their magic on the couple's 980-square-foot space inside a 2,100-square-foot former barn. And, while the ever-popular home improvement show's finale is always notorious for surprising couples in the best ways possible, Brooks had his own surprise up his sleeve.

At the end of the episode, the Gaineses revealed the couple's newly renovated home, with Chip saying, "We hope this kickstarts the rest of your life." Well, sure enough, it did, as TJ suddenly pulled a ring out of his pocket (which took a few seconds of finagling). With the Gaineses standing nearby in shock, the veteran became emotional as he started to pop the question.

"I just love you so much, and I know we've been on a lot of great adventures and I think this marks the beginning of our greatest adventure," TJ told Stephanie as he dropped down on one knee. "Will you marry me?" With tears forming, Stephanie said yes, and the two hugged it out. You have to see all the adorableness in its entirety to get the full effect of this impromptu TV proposal.

According to HGTV, these lovebirds met shortly after TJ came home from Afghanistan. After losing a leg in an IED explosion overseas, he had been recovering at the Walter Reed Medical Center, where he crossed paths with Stephanie. His now future bride was working for a non-profit organization that helps wounded veterans. Eventually, the pair moved to Texas to buy a starter home, and the rest is history.

Stephanie told HGTV that she likes "unique and different, and TJ's dream was to have land." They originally set a $45,000 budget for the renovations, but the Gainses predicted a much steeper cost-$100,000. Thankfully for the newly betrothed, the community pitched in to fund the injured, recovering veteran's dream home. Looks like this love story is off to a stellar start!
