Adam Levine Just Performed at India's Most Lavish Wedding Ceremony

We already knew that Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta were going to have the Indian blowout wedding of the year. If you remember, Ambani is the son of India's richest man, and his pre-wedding festivities were major. So, when it came to the day-of, the couple did not disappoint: They had none other than Adam Levine entertain their guests.

The gorgeous reception took place in Mumbai on Saturday. The celebration featured a huge glittering fireworks show and, perhaps coolest of all, a live performance by Maroon 5. The band had the couple come up onstage with them and dance while they worked through a rendition of "She Will Be Loved." Later, videos captured the band performing their hit, "What Lovers Do," for the wedding guests (which even included Priyanka Chopra).

While it sounds like an incredibly opulent event, it's not totally a surprise given how the Ambani family has celebrated weddings in the past. Mukesh Ambani, the father of the groom, was the the 19th richest man in the world in 2018 according to Forbes, and he pretty much spares no expense when it comes to these moments. When his eldest daughter got married last year, the pre-wedding festivities culminated with a performance from (we kid you not) BeyoncĐ“©.

Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta had shown that they, too, wanted to make things special for guests. That pre-wedding ceremony in Switzerland reportedly cost around $100 million and it featured serenades from Coldplay and the Chainsmokers (these two definitely have a thing for live music). The decor was stunning and set up to look like a fairy-tale resort, with a Ferris wheel for those who were invited.

And even though the reception was maximum luxury, the couple still made things pretty intimate. According to NDTV, they sweetly read out their vows and promised to respect, cherish each other's feelings, and fulfill the responsibilities of married life with honor." That's exactly how to pull off such a spectacular wedding.
